Spacers & Standoff

Male-female threaded spacers are typically utilized when a mating part features internal threading.
Aluminum remains a top choice due to its excellent balance of low weight and structural durability. Furthermore, it is non-magnetic, functions reliably in extreme environments, and offers natural insulating qualities.
Nylon acts as a highly effective insulator with a sleek finish that prevents the fraying of adjacent wire jackets. Additionally, its threading is highly resistant to stripping under heavy torque.
For premium-grade standoffs, brass is frequently selected. It provides good electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, and is non-magnetic, though it comes at a higher weight and price point than aluminum and typically requires zinc or nickel plating.
Stainless steel shares the core benefits of brass while delivering exceptional protection against rust and harsh chemical vapors.
Lastly, standard carbon steel is favored for its superior mechanical strength, despite being heavier than aluminum and lacking the natural corrosion resistance found in aluminum or brass.
